Professor D. Prabhakaran is a cardiologist and epidemiologist by training. He is an internationally renowned researcher and is currently the Vice President- Research & Policy, Public Health Foundation of India, Executive Director of Centre for Chronic Disease Control, New Delhi, India and Professor (Epidemiology) London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. He heads the Centre for Control of Chronic Conditions at PHFI which is a joint initiative of four leading institutions (Public Health Foundation of India, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Emory University). This centre conducts cutting edge research in the prevention of chronic diseases in India and the developing world.
His work spans from mechanistic research to understand the causes for increased propensity of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) among Indians, to developing solutions for CVD through translational research and human resource development. Prof. Prabhakaran is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, and an Adjunct Professor at the Emory University. He is member of Executive Council of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and Chair of the International Society of CVD Epidemiology and Prevention (ISCEP). He has received funding from NHLBI, Wellcome Trust, European Commission and several other international and national funding bodies. He has mentored over 50 post-doctoral and doctoral students so far. He has authored several chapters and over 400 scholarly papers with an H index of 67. He is the lead editor of the Cardiovascular Disease Volume of the latest Disease Control Priorities Project.

Dr. Arun Pulikkottil Jose completed his M.B.B.S. from Father Muller Medical College under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in 2010. He completed his M.D. in Community Medicine from BLDE University's Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Bijapur in 2014. In 2016, he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Reproductive and Child Health Programs (PGDMRCH) conducted by UNICEF and Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Delhi. He is presently pursuing his PhD in implementation sciences and translational research from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Prior to his appointment at the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Dr. Jose worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore. He currently leads various capacity building initiatives for healthcare professionals at the Centre for Chronic Conditions and Injuries in PHFI. Dr. Jose was awarded the Global Public Health Leader (PH- leader) fellowship in leadership and implementation sciences at the Rollin’s School of Public Health, Emory University in 2016. The PH-Leader program is jointly delivered by PHFI, Emory University (Atlanta) and Instituto Nacional de SaludPública (Mexico), and supported by the National Institute of Health, USA. He is also a former fellow of the prestigious International Society of Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention Ten day seminar. He is the Country-leader for the May Measurement Month initiative of the International Society of Hypertension that has successfully screened over 900,000 individuals in the country and over 4.2 million individuals worldwide for raised blood pressure. He also serves as deputy chair of the South and West Asia, Middle East Regional Advisory Group of the International Society of Hypertension.

Dr. Gupta has acquired her degree in Bachelors of Physiotherapy (BPT) from GGSIP University in 2012. In the past she has worked as a Consultant Physiotherapist in Sunderlal Jain Hospital and Physio’s Physiotherapy clinic. She has also been trained in Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Service Management from IIPH – Bhubaneswar. Currently, she is working as a Program Coordinator in CCCS, at the Centre for Chronic Conditions and Injuries (CCCI). Previously she has served at different capacities in Certificate Course in Management of COPD and Asthma, and the Advanced Certificate Course in Prevention and Management of Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease. She is also working as a coordinator for May Measurement Month- a global campaign to create awareness regarding Hypertension.


Dr. Anshika Sharma

Dr. Sharma has completed her Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Krishna Dental College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Later she completed her Masters in Public Health from the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. During her studies at the University of Edinburgh she was actively involved as a volunteer in health promotion activities with social organizations like "Save the Child, Edinburgh" and "Life Care Edinburgh". She is working at PHFI as Program Coordinator for the Certificate Course in Cardiovascular Disease & Stroke (CCCS) in the Centre for Chronic Conditions and Injuries (CCCI). She also helps coordinate the CCMH program and was instrumental in the implementation of the program in Meghalaya in collaboration with Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.


Dr. Shruti Wahal

Dr. Shruti has completed her B.H.M.S. from Delhi University in 2016. Later, she completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management from Welingkar University. In early years of her career she was a part of health education programs for schools with a private healthcare organization. She has actively taken part in training sessions for teachers to empower health education at primary level. Currently, Dr.Shruti is working as Program Officer for the Certificate Course in Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke under the Centre for Chronic Conditions and Injuries (CCCI). She is also helping in coordinating the activities of the certificate course in management of hypertension. She has been instrumental in development and implementation of programs in occupational health and health program management in the past.


Ms. Sakshi Arora

Ms. Arora is working as Program Assistant in the Certificate Course in Cardiovascular Disease & Stroke (CCCS). She has completed her Bachelors in Commerce and Post Graduated Diploma in Public Health Services Management. She has also done Professional Accountancy course from Zee Interactive Learning & Financial Accountancy from F-Tech. Previously, she worked as Program Assistant in Certificate Course in Management of Thyroid Disorders.


Shruti C Nair

Ms. Shruti C Nair has been associated with PHFI since 2016. She is currently working as a Sr. Program Assistant and has worked in many projects. Ms. Nair is an MBA from GGSIP University and has also completed her PG Diploma in Public Health Services Management from IIPH-Bhubaneswar.

Mr. Rawat is working as Technical Associate for the Certificate Course in Cardiovascular Disease & Stroke (CCCS). He is handling the finance and administration work. He completed his graduation in CSHJM University, Kanpur. He has been associated with PHFI since 2015. He has worked for over 2 years for Certificate Course in Evidence Based Management of Diabetic Retinopathy (CCDR) and has worked as Technical Assistant in Certificate Course in Management of COPD and Asthma.

He also pursing his Bsc. in Applied sciences.

Last 17 years in Social sector projects independently handling norms, controls, budgets, accounting, compliances & administration.
